31 MAR INDUSTRIAL COLOR FINISHES AN R&D PROJECT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW DIGITAL INKS
At Color Industrial we are experts in all types of inks, varnishes and other products. We also offer a series of services to maximize operations, reduce costs and manage printing efficiently. Our team of technicians provide advice to printers expecting high ink and printer performance. Both in digital printing and flexography. Our 30 years of experience in the printing world has made us consolidate a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified technicians.
R&D is essential for Color Industrial. In this sense, in December 2019, the INKS 2020 project ended that began in mid-July 2018 (IDI-20180932) for the development of new inkjet inks based on pigments for the printing of paper napkins and tablecloths, and which was financed by the CDTI and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Multi-regional Operational Program for Smart Growth 2014-2020.
The project
The objective of the project has been the development of a pigment-based inkjet ink formulation for the Single Pass digital printing process on low-price cellulose substrates (mainly paper napkins and tablecloths). It is a competitive and viable alternative to the usual flexo-based systems.
The new Inkjet inks developed specifically for this project offer fast drying which maximizes productivity, reduced dot gain and satisfactory fastness on this type of substrate.
They are especially indicated for use on low-price cellulosic substrates. In addition to being a simpler and cheaper solution (compared to other dye inks), it is worth noting the design versatility offered by this process (compared to the processes currently used for printing paper napkins and tablecloths-flexography -), so the solution is expected to be of industrial interest. That is why the company expects sales growth, as a result of the new development, in this type of impressions.
